North Dayi MP launches Starlink Wi-Fi to bridge digital gap

Madam Joycelyn Tetteh, Member of Parliament (MP) for North Dayi, has announced the successful installation of Starlink Wi-Fi systems in the communities of Awate and Botoku.

The installation was done under the Bringing Fast Internet to Our Communities initiative.

She said the project marks a bold step toward ensuring that students, young people, and entrepreneurs in rural areas remain connected to the digital world.

“Access to reliable internet is no longer a luxury — it’s a necessity for education, innovation, and progress,” she stated.

According to the MP, the initiative forms part of broader efforts to push for long-term network improvements through collaboration with the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC).

“While we continue to advocate for stronger and more sustainable connectivity solutions, this project offers an immediate and powerful boost to our communities,” she said.

Madam Tetteh described the Starlink connection as a life-changing opportunity for learners and business owners in underserved areas.

“Our students can now access online learning materials, our entrepreneurs can market their businesses globally, and our youth can participate in the digital economy,” she added.

She revealed that the Starlink Wi-Fi systems in both Awate and Botoku are open for community use, with the password JoycelynNetwork, encouraging residents to make the most of the new resource.

The MP also assured that plans are underway to extend the Starlink project to other traditional areas within the North Dayi constituency.

“This is just the beginning — every community deserves reliable internet access and equal digital opportunity,” she emphasised.

Madam Tetteh urged the people of North Dayi to protect and make good use of the facility.

“Let’s keep moving forward together — for better learning, better business, and a better future for our children,” she stressed.
