Mr James Ebo Whyte, a renowned playwright and founder of Roverman Productions, has paid a courtesy call on Mr Henry Herbert Malm, the newly appointed Executive Director of the National Theatre of Ghana.
The meeting was to strengthen the gesture of goodwill and reaffirm the long-standing partnership between Roverman Productions and the National Theatre.
Known popularly as Uncle Ebo Whyte for his exploits in drama and stage performance, he has led Roverman Productions to be one of the Theatre’s most consistent and influential partners for the past 17 years.
Mr Henry Herbert Malm, Acting Executive Director, National Theatre, expressed a heartfelt appreciation to Mr Ebo Whyte for his unwavering support and loyalty as a consistent patron of the National Theatre.
He gave the playwright an assurance of the National Theatre Management’s commitment to enhancing the Theatre’s facilities and creative environment to make the space even more conducive for artists, audiences and future collaborations.
Mr Ebo Whyte, in return, conveyed his gratitude to the Theatre’s leadership and the entire technical and administrative team who had supported Roverman Productions throughout the years.
He said he was optimistic that there would be more fruitful partnership under the new leadership, reaffirming his commitment to the shared vision of promoting Ghanaian theatre and creative talents.
The National Theatre and Roverman Production partnership has not only strengthened the Theatre’s performance calendar but also advanced its mandate to promote and develop the performing arts while providing a platform for authentic Ghanaian storytelling.
Every year in December, Uncle Ebo Whyte through his Roverman Festival of Plays presents a rich catalogue of stage plays that draw large audiences and contribute significantly to the sustainability of live theatre performances in Ghana.
