Mr. Dominic Bonsu, the Assembly Member for Manso Takorase in the Amansie South District, has donated medical equipment valued at GH¢320,000 to over twenty-five health facilities across the district.
The donation ceremony, held at Manso Takorase, brought together district health officials, assembly members, traditional authorities, and residents, all of whom praised Mr. Bonsu for his dedication to the welfare of his people and his continuous efforts toward improving public healthcare.
The medical supplies included delivery of beds, thermometer guns, blood pressure machines, wheelchairs, drip stands, stretchers, baby scales, ward screens, and television sets.
These items are expected to enhance the efficiency of healthcare delivery and provide comfort for patients across various health centers in the district.
Mr. Bonsu explained that his gesture was inspired by the pressing need to strengthen the capacity of health facilities to serve the people effectively.
He noted that healthcare is a shared responsibility that requires collaboration among government, local leaders, and private stakeholders.
He stated that the government alone cannot bear the full cost of providing every resource needed in the health sector and called on individuals, organisations and philanthropists to complement state efforts in improving healthcare infrastructure and services.
He expressed optimism that the equipment would contribute significantly to better health outcomes in the Amansie South District.
Mr. Ofosu Kwabi Nasas, the District Director of Health Services, commended the donor for his thoughtful and impactful donation, saying that the support had come at a crucial time when many facilities were struggling with inadequate equipment.
