Black Stars-CAR encounter is ‘unity of our great nation’-Berekum West MP

Mr Dickson Kyere-Duah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Berekum West Constituency in the Bono Region has describes the Black Stars encounter with the Central African Republic (CAR) in the 2026 World Cup qualifying as a ‘unity of our great nation’.

“This match is more than just earning three points, about the spirit, pride, and unity of our great nation. It’s about making a giant step towards the United States, Canada and Mexico”, he stated in a statement issued and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) sport in Sunyani.

The statement urged the national team to “play with passion, play with heart, and remember that you carry the dreams of every Ghanaian with you onto that pitch”.

It said: “As the nation rallies once more behind our beloved Black Stars, I wish to extend my heartfelt goodwill and best wishes to the entire team as you face CAR in today’s vital World Cup qualifying match”.

“The hopes and prayers of millions of Ghanaians are with you. We trust in your commitment, determination, discipline, and teamwork and the very qualities that have made Ghana one of Africa’s most respected footballing nations”, it added.

“On behalf of the good people of Berekum West, and indeed all football-loving Ghanaians, I say: Go Black Stars! Make Ghana proud once again. Victory shall be ours”, the statement added.

Ghana is expected to book a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup when the national team plays the Central African Republic today.

Football fans anticipate a win for the Black Stars, as the national team currently boasts a three-point lead in Group I ahead of the fixture against CAR.
