The Mfantseman Municipal Assembly, has carried out major renovation works of its office building as part of efforts to enhance effective governance and improve service delivery to the people.
The renovation works, which began earlier this year, included a complete facelift of the Assembly’s hall, installation of modern office equipment, repainting of the entire structure, an upgrade to support digital meetings and public engagements.
Speaking during a brief inspection tour of the facility, Mr Eric Stanley Acquah, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), said the decision to renovate the building was driven by the need to create a more conducive and efficient working environment for staff.
It was also and to ensure the Assembly met the growing demands of residents.
Mr Acquah said: “Local governance thrives on accessibility, efficiency and dignity,” Mr Acquah said.
This Assembly building represents the seat of development for the people of Mfantseman, and it must reflect the standard we are working hard to achieve.”
According to him, the renovation would not only improve morale among staff but also restore public confidence in the Assembly’s operations.
Some staff members expressed appreciation to the MCE for prioritising their work environment, adding that the improved facility would enable them to serve the public better.
Community members who witnessed the ongoing works also commended the Assembly for investing in infrastructure that enhanced governance instead of waiting for central government intervention.
The Mr Acquah hinted that similar renovation works would soon be extend to satellite offices and key public facilities across the municipality to ensure development was evenly spread.

The MCE highlighted upcoming projects, including a 24-hour market, education infrastructure, health facilities, and sanitation initiatives.
Mr Acquah urged assembly members to unite and support the development agenda, stressing that collective effort was key to developing Mfantseman.
The project was funded through internally generated funds (IGF) and supplemented by support from development partners.
