President Uhuru meets Museveni’s son Muhoozi

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday held talks with Uganda’s Special Envoy General Muhoozi Kainerugaba who paid him a courtesy call at State House, Nairobi on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Uhuru and General Kainerugaba discussed several bilateral and multilateral issues of interest to Kenya and Uganda.

“Among the issues that we discussed included the restoration of peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo,” Uhuru said.

On 8 March 2022, Muhoozi’s announced retirement from the Ugandan People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), which he had formally served in since 1999.

Since his most recent promotion in June 2021, he has served as the commander of the land forces. The position made him the third-highest ranking officer in the defence forces.
