Saul returns to Atletico after disappointing season with Chelsea

Madrid, June 8 (Oman) Spanish international Saul Neguez announced his return to Atletico Madrid after a disappointing season on loan with Chelsea, after the English club decided not to activate the purchase option.

Saul arrived in London in the summer of last year, after Chelsea were crowned European champions, on loan for a full season with the option to buy at the end of the period.

But after playing “1119 minutes in 23 matches (in all competitions) with Chelsea”, according to the Spanish newspaper Marca, and not adapting to the style of German coach Thomas Tuchel, he will return to the Spanish capital.

Saul scored one goal with Chelsea and crowned him with the 2021 Club World Cup in the final at the expense of the Brazilian Palmeiras, and he finished last season in the local and League Cups, losing against Liverpool.
