North Dayi MP hands over new classroom block to Yordan-Nu 

Madam Joycelyn Tetteh, Member of Parliament (MP) of North Dayi, has commissioned a new classroom block for the White Cross D/A Basic School in Vakpo-Yordan-Nu to boost the educational landscape of the area. 

Describing the moment as a transformation of hope, the MP said the facility marked the end of years of teaching and learning under trees, in the open and under a harsh weather conditions as she handed over the newly constructed classroom block to pupils and teachers of the White Cross D/A Basic School. 

“This is more than infrastructure. It is a promise of brighter futures and a foundation upon which the dreams of our children will stand,” she said. 

The new block, built to improve safety and enhance the learning environment, provides modern and spacious classrooms for pupils who previously studied under makeshift structures and trees. Teachers also received newly donated tables and chairs for their staff common room.  

“Our teachers deserve dignity, respect and comfort as they shape the next generation,” Madam Tetteh noted.                                                                                                                                                                                                     

She praised the collaborative spirit that made the project possible, highlighting the important role of community stakeholders.  

“This achievement reflects what unity, commitment and a shared vision can deliver for our communities,” she added. 

The MP further assured residents of her continued commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure across North Dayi. 

She emphasised that improved learning environments remained central to her development agenda for children in rural communities. 

During the ceremony, the Yordan-Nu White Cross Mission presented a citation of honour to Madam Tetteh in recognition of her dedication to improving education in the area.  

The MP described the gesture as deeply encouraging.  

“Your recognition inspires me to keep pushing forward for every child, every teacher and every community,” she said.
