Two decades on, 2005 Old Mawuli Students Union (OMSU) have refurbished Mawuli School’s ICT lab with new facilities, while 2000 OMSU group also supported Ho Female Prison and renovated the school’s historic “White Block” to mark their milestone anniversaries.
The OMSU 2005 Year Group, in marking their 20th anniversary, supplied 40 brand-new laptop computers, repainted the ICT Lab, replaced all eight ceiling fans, improved student desks, and installed new curtains to enhance the learning environment.
“This ICT lab stands as a testament to our unity, vision, and love for Mawuli School,” the group said, noting that their contribution was not just for celebration but also for impact.
“We didn’t come just to have fun; we came to make a difference,” one member remarked, adding that the group intends to undertake additional projects each year to further strengthen the school’s infrastructure and academic resources.
Similarly, the OMSU 2000 Year Group commemorated its 25th anniversary with a donation of GHC 30,000 worth of supplies to the Ho Female Prison. The gesture, which included bags of rice, yam, mineral drinks, toiletries, and other essentials, was presented on Friday, October 24, 2025, as part of activities marking Mawuli School’s 75th anniversary celebrations.
Mr. Divine Akuaku, President of the 2000 Year Group, said the donation was motivated by a desire to share their milestone with those in need. “As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we chose to share this moment with them,” he said. “We wanted to celebrate with our mothers and sisters who are here.”
Chief Superintendent of Prisons (CSP) Mrs. Millicent Akity, who received the items on behalf of the inmates, expressed gratitude to the group, saying the gesture would go a long way to improve the welfare of the inmates.
She also called on the public to remember and support the prison community.
In addition to the donation, OMSU 2000 completed a major renovation of the “White Block,” one of Mawuli School’s most iconic classroom buildings and handover to the school. The project included structural repairs, painting, and the installation of new furniture sets to create a more comfortable and conducive environment for learning.

Both year groups said their projects reflected the spirit of service, unity, and gratitude that Mawuli School had instilled in its students for generations.
As the institution celebrates 75 years of shaping leaders, the contributions of its alumni continue to stand as enduring symbols of excellence and community impact.
