Mr. James Gunu, Volta Regional Minister, has commended Victor Electronics, a leading electronics company in the Volta Region, for its contribution of GH30,000 towards the regional “Water for All” initiative,
It aims at expanding access to clean and safe water for communities in the region.
The company has equally donated GH20000 towards 2025 Volta Fair, slated for November 26 to December 8 in Ho.
Mr. Gunu expressed his appreciation when the Chief Executive Officer of Victor Electronics, Mr. Jacob Klu, and his team paid a courtesy call on him at his office in Ho to introduce their range of innovative products and announce their upcoming Black Friday promotion in November, offering discounts of up to 90 percent on selected items.
The visit also highlighted the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts, as Victor Electronics presented a large television set to the Regional Coordinating Council.
Mr. Gunu praised the company’s commitment to supporting local development, describing the gesture as “a true reflection of partnership between the private sector and government in advancing growth and improving livelihoods.”
He noted that the donation would go a long way to aid the “Water for All” project’s mission to provide sustainable water solutions to deprived communities across the region.
Mr. Klu, in his remarks, said the company was inspired by the Minister’s initiative, adding that water was essential to life and development. “Water is everything about us,” he said. “We are happy to support this vision and encourage other organisations, churches, and philanthropists to contribute in cash or kind to help achieve it.”
He reiterated Victor Electronics’ commitment to community support, innovation, and youth empowerment through employment and skills development opportunities.
Mr. Gunu reaffirmed that the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC), under the leadership of former President John Dramani Mahama, remained committed to backing private sector initiatives that promote entrepreneurship, job creation, and sustainable regional development.
He called on more businesses within and outside the region to emulate Victor Electronics’ example by partnering government to address pressing social and economic challenges.
